Preparation: Please use only rolls from the same production batch and check the wallpaper for any defects before hanging! To do this, unroll the wallpaper on a smooth and clean surface before application. Examine this high-quality wallcovering particularly carefully to avoid any issues. Any claims, as well as returns, exchanges, or other compensation for used goods, are excluded.
Surface preparation: The surface must be dry, sound, smooth, clean, uniformly absorbent, color-neutral, and permanently stable. Remove all old wallpaper completely! Smooth and fill any rough surfaces, holes, and uneven areas. To even out absorbency and, if necessary, to strengthen plaster surfaces, a water-based primer should generally be applied. A flawless wallpapering result is only possible on a uniformly colored surface; therefore, apply lining paper or pigmented primer if necessary. For non-absorbent surfaces, it is recommended to apply a non-woven wallpaper backing. Wallpapering can then be carried out on this backing as described below. (Quality level Q4 to Q3)
Adhesive: We recommend using specially developed brand-name adhesives for non-woven wallpapers. Our product has been tested with Henkel's "Metylan direct control" adhesive. The dimensionally stable wallcovering can be hung directly using the paste-the-wall technique (i.e., applying the adhesive directly to the wall and then applying the wallpaper to the pasted wall) without soaking time, edge to edge. The non-woven wallpaper adhesive should be applied liberally and evenly to the surface with a roller, slightly wider than the width of the wallpaper strip.
Caution: Immediately dab off any excess paste with a soft, damp sponge, as it may remain visible after drying.
Hanging the wallpaper: When hanging our wallpaper, please follow the numbering sequence. This is shown on the insert located at the top of each strip. Ideally, you should hang our product from left to right, following the numbering, always with the insert facing up. The wallpaper strips should be placed vertically, from top to bottom and from the inside out, into the adhesive bed and pressed down with a clean, soft, damp cloth or a foam roller to remove any air bubbles. Carefully trim any excess wallpaper directly on the wall using a straightedge and a utility knife.
Caution: Please do not use brushes, plastic rollers, or seam rollers. Excessive pressure or pulling could deform or damage the wallpaper. When using a pasting machine, no guarantee is given for dimensional stability or material damage. During drying, excessive heat or drafts can cause seams to open.
How do I remove wallpaper from the wall? With optimal wall preparation and suitable material properties, non-woven wallpaper can be removed dry without leaving any residue. In all other cases: dampen the wallpaper and allow the moisture to soak in; then the non-woven wallpaper can usually be removed easily, as non-woven material is significantly stronger than paper. Disposal of old wallpaper or leftover pieces can be done via regular household waste or commercial waste similar to household waste.
For wallpapering you will need: non-woven wallpaper paste, bucket, stirring stick, sharp utility knife, straightedge, spirit level/plumb line, pencil, paste roller/brush, soft clean cloth, sponge, and ladder. Note: The above information is only a general recommendation. Working conditions and substrate properties, which are beyond our control, preclude any liability arising from this information. In case of doubt, we recommend conducting sufficient tests yourself.
We hope you enjoy your new wallpaper!
