processing
Preparation: Please use only rolls from the same batch and check the wallpaper for any defects before pasting! To do this, unroll the wallpaper on a smooth and clean surface before processing. Please check this high-quality wallcovering particularly carefully to avoid complaints. Any complaints, as well as returns, exchanges, or other claims for processed goods, are excluded.
Substrate pretreatment: The substrate must be dry, load-bearing, smooth, clean, uniformly absorbent, color-neutral, and permanently stable. Remove old wallpaper completely! Smooth and fill rough substrates, holes, and unevenness. To equalize absorbency and, if necessary, to consolidate plaster surfaces, always prime with water-based deep primer. A perfect wallpapering result is only possible on a color-uniform substrate, so apply wallpaper lining paper or pigmented deep primer if necessary. For non-absorbent substrates, it is advisable to glue a non-woven renovation fleece. The wallpaper can then be applied to this substrate as described below. (Quality level Q4 to Q3)
Paste: We recommend using specially developed branded adhesives for non-woven wallpapers. Our product has been tested with Henkel's "Metylan direct control" paste. The dimensionally stable wallcovering can be applied directly using the wall-pasting technique (i.e., apply paste directly to the wall, then apply the wallpaper to the pasted wall) without soaking, butt-jointed. The non-woven wallpaper paste should be applied generously and evenly to the substrate with a roller, slightly wider than the width of the roll.
Attention: Please immediately dab off any excess paste with a soft, damp sponge, as it may remain visible after drying.
Applying wallpaper: When applying our wallpapers, the numbering sequence must be followed. This is shown on the insert, which is located at the top of each strip. Ideally, you should hang our product from left to right, following the numbering, always with the insert facing upwards. The wallpaper strips should be laid plumb, from top to bottom and from inside to outside, into the adhesive bed and pressed bubble-free with a clean, soft, damp cloth or a foam rubber roller. Carefully cut off any excess material directly on the wall with a cutting ruler and a utility knife.
Caution: Please do not use brushes, plastic, or seam rollers. Excessive pressure or pulling could deform or damage the wallpaper. No guarantee is given for dimensional stability or damage to the material when processed with a pasting machine. During drying, excessive heating and drafts can lead to open seams.
You will need for wallpapering: Non-woven wallpaper paste, bucket, stirring stick, sharp utility knife, cutting ruler, spirit level / plumb bob, pencil, pasting roller / brush, soft clean cloth, sponge, and ladder. Note: The above information is only general recommendations. Working conditions and substrate properties beyond our control exclude any claim based on this information. In case of doubt, we recommend sufficient self-testing.
The perfect seam for dark motifs: For wallpapers with dark designs, we recommend particularly careful processing to achieve a perfect result. Due to the white backing material, fine, light lines may become visible at the transitions. For an optimal finish, we advise painting the wall in a matching color beforehand and applying the strips precisely. For maximum precision, the edges can be subtly colored. Should small transitions still be visible, they can be easily touched up with a little diluted paint – for an all-round harmonious overall picture.
How do I remove the wallpaper from the wall again? With optimal wall preparation and corresponding material properties, non-woven wallpaper can be dry-stripped without leaving any residue. In all other cases: moisten the wallpaper and let the moisture soak in, then the non-woven wallpaper can usually be easily removed, as fleece has significantly higher strength than paper. The disposal of old wallpaper or cut-off remnants can be done via residual waste or commercial waste similar to household waste.
We hope you enjoy your new wallpaper!
