From photo to wallpaper – How the skateboard motif was created in the home office
Every wallpaper tells a story – but some are so personal that they reflect the room and the person using it in a very special way. This is exactly the kind of project that was realized for one of our clients: a personalized photo wallpaper featuring him as a skateboarder from days gone by.
The idea behind the project
Our client is an avid skateboarder – and this very lifestyle was to be visible not only in the halfpipe, but also on the wall of his home office. Instead of standard motifs from a catalog, he wanted a wall mural with his own skateboard photo, dynamically showcasing him and adding character to the room. For us, it was the perfect opportunity to design a completely individual wallpaper.

From image to personal design
The core of this project was a photo chosen by the client. We carefully analyzed it and optimized it for printing as a wallpaper motif. Image quality plays a crucial role here – it ultimately determines how clear, detailed, and vibrant the wall mural appears. We revise the photo so that colors, contrast, and composition perfectly match the wall size and create an authentic atmosphere.
Creative adaptation process
- Motif selection: The client chose his action-packed skateboard photo as the basis.
- Layout optimization: We adjusted the image format to the wall dimensions – a crucial step to ensure the motif is not distorted or cut off.
- Color adjustment & details: Subtle color corrections and fine-tuning of contrast make the motif appear even more powerful and harmonious on the wall.
- Print preparation: We transform the final image into a high-resolution print format, which is realized with razor-sharp detail on non-woven wallpaper.
